Honestly, when it comes to travelling, every time I hear about hostels and budget rooms, I have these thoughts of a space that’s small, inconvenient, uncomfortable with a below average service, and unsecured place. But experiencing Lub D, totally changed my perspective when they recently open their very own hostel branch here at the heart of Makati and possibly this could be one of the few hostels that I could just lounge in and not worry about my things or my convenience whenever I get to travel around.
Lub D, SEA’s leading social experience hotel & hostel brand, announces the opening of Lub D Philippines Makati, further enhancing their award-winning portfolio of properties in Thailand and Cambodia. Lub D inspired by travelers, both millennials, tech savvy generations & explorers who define their travels by their experiences, enjoy the social spaces, unique accommodation, and great food & beverage. Lub D was recently chosen as “Best New Hostel in the World” at the Hoscar Awards for Lub D Phuket Patong.
Lub D Philippines Makati has a variety of cool social spaces that will bring world travelers and locals together. Which I find really fun and exciting – that you get to meet new people and friends to make your stay worth a while. The 1st floor reception area includes a game area with pool tables to pacman machines, a Grab N Go bar that offers awesome Nespresso coffee & lots of snacks. (The coffee-lover in me is happy!) There’s also a cool down room for you to chill out and watch a movie and also a great working space managed by Garage Society. One thing also that I really liked about Lub D is the co-working space that offers bright meeting rooms, cool workstations, and private chat booths. I was like, “damn, is this for real! What a hostel!” lol, can you imagine my reaction? I bet you’ll react the same way if you see it in person!
By the way guys, I’m really sorry about the photos. I wasn’t able to bring my other lens with me, you don’t really get to see the beauty of the Lub D! But take time to look at the photos and appreciate my little efforts lol. 😀
The indoor dining area would probably be one of my favorites because of how yummy the food is! Their food takes you on culinary journey, focusing on Local & SEAsian inspired streetfood with a twist, created by talented local chefs Nicco Santos & Quenee Villar of the renowned Hey Handsome & Your Local Restaurants.
Now for the room area:
There are 3 different rooms here at Lub D Makati that meets your needs! Mixed and ladies dorms with 8 beds dorm rooms and separate shared bathrooms, are great choice to meet like-minded travelers. (So sorry that I don’t have photos of it to share it to you guys, but I’ll place the link of Lub D’s website below.) Also, the one of a kind private Barkada Roon have two single beds or a King bed, and climbing up the stairs to two single beds, all private bathroom, which by the way I really love because of its subway tiles finished. This is a great choice for a group of four friends or your family. I think it can still fit 5 people inside room and still so cozy.
Lastly, the signature private room with an option of two single beds or one King bed with all the key amenities and en-suite bathroom. Which I really enjoyed staying in. Well, who doesn’t want a little privacy when it comes to affordable hostels. I think everyone does.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome, Lub D Philippines Makati and the whole Lub D Makati Team! Much looking forward to your Thailand and Cambodia hostel branches in the future if ever I get to visit those countries soon! Everyone was just so welcoming and I’m looking forward to my future stay here again. Also I’m excited for your rooftop bar to open and get mesmerize with the breathtaking view of Makati this coming April.
